Imbera connects its cold operation across 6 countries

Since 2021, Emerald has built the software Solkos uses to run Imbera's cooler fleet out in the street.

The starting point

Imbera builds the coolers where brands like Coca-Cola, Heineken and Lala sell their product. Solkos is its digital unit: the one responsible for knowing what happens to each unit once it's out in the street.

Every cooler stores its own telemetry. But the data stayed in the unit, and a failure came to light when the client called.

The mission

Turning a distributed physical fleet into an operation run on data.

The insight

Reading a cooler meant sending someone out to it. The answer was in the people who already go: the sales fleet that visits every point of sale, every day.

With Coolector on the phone, every sales visit collects the unit's telemetry in passing. No new routes and no extra technicians.

A cooler that gets read is a cooler with its failure identified before anyone calls.

Consola — the platform that runs the fleet

Emerald built Consola, where the operation sees its entire fleet: the map, the alerts, the indicators leadership reviews daily.

After building it, Emerald transferred it to the Imbera team, which operates and develops it today. Emerald keeps product direction.

The client never became dependent. Or alone.

Three apps for the field, one data engine

The sales rep reads units with Coolector. The technician diagnoses with Cooltech. The shopkeeper takes part with ImberaSmart.

Every reading feeds an engine that processes close to 100,000 records a day, with peaks of a million, at a fraction of a cent per reading.

The state of the fleet stopped being a guess.

The operation, in a conversation

We operate agents on WhatsApp that open service orders and coordinate the teams in the field, on the systems Solkos already has.

The app gets checked. The conversation lets you know.

What began as a tool for this operation is today Emerald Intelligence, Emerald's operational intelligence platform. The layer that defines the company was born here, and it already runs inside and outside Mexico.

Five years, one team

The Imbera team reviews the backlog in the same Notion where Emerald works. Progress is shown at demo days, and every quarter a showcase brings the two teams together.

The result

A connected cooler gets repaired in 15 days. One without a connection waits up to 3 months. Each day of difference is product left uncooled at a point of sale.

What started in Mexico in 2021 operates today in 6 countries.
